Hello! :)
I used linux mint on my computer some time ago and now I moved to Windows XP (maybe i'll go back to mint someday), because i use and old PC and I found out about Krita only recently. I downloaded the "highly experimental" windows installer of Krita and I also have the Calligra suite installed, but when I try to load Krita it's "loading screen" image shows up and an error is displayed over it in another window saying "Cannot load library C:/program files/krita/lib/kde4/kritapart.dll:"
I searched the bug reports and forum, but didn't found any solution. It seems like a great program and I really wish to try it out. Can you help me out?

Thanks.

I am actually not sure how well having both calligra and krita installed works... I'd uninstall everything and download the latest krita-only installer (http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_2.7.8.2.msi) and install it to the default location. If you install it by somehow unpacking the .msi then you will need to run kbuildsycoca4 manually (cd krita; env.bat kbuildsycoca4).

I appreciate the help, especially as this is not really a very serious request. I just wanna try the program, since i can't buy photoshop. But I still have some problems. If it's ok for you to help me then I greatly appreciate you doing this. So... :

Did that. I got the same result.

I haven't installed it by unpacking the .msi file.
I'm not sure if this matters but when I opened the kbuildsycoca4 this is what I got:
Code: Select all
 kbuildsycoca4 running...
 kbuildsycoca4: dbus unavailable <not compiled>. not signaling...
