Hi there,
I need to know exactly which packages needed for me to install krita on Ubuntu.. Everytime I install it, it says that there are kde packages missing.. I tried Linux Mint kde, and I liked it, but suffered from many problems with the internet connection.. This is something I can't cope with.. So, I'm back to using Ubuntu since I had no problems with connection.. I want to know whether should I install kde-full package or kdebase to run krita.. Please help |

how are you installing Krita, the package manager is supposed to resolve dependencies
do you have the Kubuntu ppa configured? if you also add the Kubuntu backport ppa it might have a newer version you don't indicate the version of Ubuntu nor KDE, sometimes it helps |

I am installing it using terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita I am on Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit)... I haven't installed KDE yet; I need to know which packages should I install |

What you have there sounds good. apt-get should take care of installing all necessary dependencies.
Cheers, Sven
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

please post the output from the "apt-get" command
you could try removing the backport ppa and and adding the regular KDE ppa and see if that works I don't use Kubuntu so my advice is iffy - sorry |

I installed Krita from the software manager after adding the Kubuntu ppa backports. Here is what I get when I try running the program

I ran the command and this is what I got when I tried running Krita:
When Krita opened, I got this notification msg:
Unlike before, the program was working this time, but all the icons were blank... For example, the tool palette has all the tools, but I don't see their icons, so I can't know which one is what |

Lacking "klauncher" is quite odd - it is part of kdelibs. Which kdelibs5-* packages do you have installed? If there is a kdelibs5-bin package, please install it.

do you have kdelib5-plugins installed? if not install it

Thank you guys.. it worked. kdelibs5-plugins is what was needed since it includes kdelibs-bin in it. I have to add that for anyone to run Krita in Ubuntu the oxygen-icon-theme should be installed, for you to be able to see the icons of the program.
Conclusion (a step-by-step guide to run Krita in Ubuntu): in Terminal, write the following commands:
