Krita Saves

Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:45 pm
I love this program a lot but I was wondering why it is when I open the software and do something then I save it it will save and leave me a "kra~" file thingy but when i double click the file it doesn't recognizes the file time and says to find a program or look on the net to find something that can open it, well i went to open with a program and clicked on krita and it still doesn't open. is there a way to make the files open on double clicking like PSD files? if not i guess its ok, i can still open them if i open the launcher make a new document then click on open then find my save but that a hassle to do.

Hi... The .kra~ files are backup files. They should be cleaned away automatically at one point. I don't know how to properly do file associations with applications on Windows, so having double-click on file open it with Krita will be some time away.
