Hello to all,

I'm an old (in all senses) user of the computer. I design, paint and teach these subjects at the University of the Third Age (I have a site: www.avelino.it absolutely not up to date but who wants to see some of my stuff can look at it). Recently I discovered Krita, I am absolutely thrilled to use it and I bought an Intuos 5 tablet. I use both Win 7 and Linux in a minimal Debian installation done by a friend hyper-expert.

I see that in the version for Win (2.8 pre-alpha), among other features, you can set the cursor to the shape of the brush over a crosshair, while neither in version 2.6.4 available for Debian, and even in version 2.7.4 (which I compiled from source), this feature is available. Because I find extremely useful and would like to use Krita in Linux, I ask you: is it available?

I like the portrait, and I am looking for realism (I have some work for the hands, but I have not posted anything yet, ... in Google plus (Krita discussion) I have posted some work-in-progress!).

Krita dokers among its features the "Reference Images" unfortunately at each session, the program forgets the loaded image in that window. I think that also save the path to that file in the Krita document is trivial, as no one has ever thought of that? Also in respect of the management of "Doker" any variation of zoom (using the appropriate Doker bar in the reference image) the portion of the display image always starts from x=0 and y=0, while it would be more convenient and proper that the active center of the zoom was also the center of the new zoom level ... I hope I explained myself!

Also, the docker "Reference images" allows you to pick the color and I find this very useful. Unfortunately, besides the defects above mentioned, it happens that, if during the click to pick up the color if, without wanting, you move (even slightly) the mouse, it generates a zoom and you need to reset the zoom of docker window!

I hope I have not bored you and I would be happy to receive a reply.

Thank you all from now on. See you soon, Ave

Don't worry about your English, very few of us are native speakers :-). Your suggestions for the reference images docker make a lot of sense. If you want to help out, please consider adding your notes to

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325210

Which already asks partly for what you need. If it's in bugzilla, we won't forget about it. (Though it might still take ages before have time to implement it!)

As for new features, if you can build 2.7.4 yourself, you could also build the 2.8 branch or even git master. Check out this awesome howto:: http://www.davidrevoy.com/article193/bu ... x-for-cats
