Building Krita Sketch on Linux

Mon Dec 16, 2013 5:24 am
Hi all,

While I've read that Krita Sketch should work fine on linux, binaries of it for linux seems pretty much non-existent, so I'm trying to just build it from source. Following the source link leads me here:

https://projects.kde.org/projects/calli ... etch-rempt

which appears to be a 'krita-sketch-rempt' branch of the calligra project. How do I go about it from here? Do I need to build the whole of calligra? I tried doing the usual cmake and got:
---------------- The following products can NOT be built ------------
-- OKULARODPGENERATOR: Plugin for Okular adding support for ODP and MS PPT/PPTX | Okular devel not found
-- PLUGIN_KEXI_SPREADSHEETMIGRATION: Import from ODS plugin for Kexi | Required internal dependency missing: SHEETS_PART
-- PLUGIN_SHEETS_PIVOTTABLES: Plugin for Sheets adding pivot tables | Required internal dependency missing: SHEETS_PART
-- SHEETS: Full Sheets (for Desktop) | Required internal dependency missing: SHEETS_APP
-- KRITA: Full Krita (for Desktop) | Required internal dependency missing: KRITA_APP
-- ACTIVE: Calligra Active | Required internal dependency missing: SHEETS_PART
-- CSTESTER: cstester | Required internal dependency missing: SHEETS_PART

which notably means there is no 'krita' folder in the build files generated by cmake. I'm not sure what to do next, can I get some help? I mainly just wanna try out Krita Sketch on my tablet, and I don't (too much) mind having to build the rest of calligra with it if necessary. I'm running on openSUSE 13.1 on x86_64.

Those bits of info are a bit old, but you are right, it's the newest information out there on the topic. Krita Sketch and Krita Gemini have been merged into master now, though, so you don't need some special branch for it any longer. As for cmake, you'll want to pass either desktop or creativeonly as the productset (-DPRODUCTSET=yourchoice) to get Krita built. Note, however, that it does have a somewhat large set of requirements, but those will be noted by CMake as things that have not been found. Hope that helps! :)

Hi moofang

as leinir pointed out krita sketch and gemini are now part of master, all you need to do is compile krita to have them available (at least that happened to me on my last jump to master). You can follow this guide http://www.davidrevoy.com/article193/building-krita-on-linux-for-cats as it has up to-date information on building Krita/sketch/gemini.

Thanks for the input guys! I managed to get myself into a crunch period so too occupied to try again now >.< will report back later on when I have had an opportunity to retry building.
