It seems to me that one of my custom brushes, which combines a texture with rotation set to 'fuzzy', has changed significantly in how it works since I went from 2.7 to the development version. Previously, I think, the texture rotated with each dab, and so I built up brush strokes that had texture, but not an obvious repeating texture. Now, the texture appears to be independent of the brush rotation, so that the strokes I make with the same brush have a very obvious repeating pattern in them, and I can't seem to figure out a way to make this brush behave like it did before.
Is this a deliberate change? |

It works fine for me.
![]() Can't see any repeating pattern. I built krita from git master less than hour ago, so it's the very latest version. Are you sure that "rotation" and "fuzzy" are checked? |

Here's a pic of my brush in action.
![]() Left is 2.7, right is the version I'm using now. I hope that makes a bit more sense than the description I gave? |

Is it a hatching brush with a textured point or a pixel brush with a texture pattern?
A screen-shot of your brush settings and textures would be more helpful. |

oh, this might have actually been the result of a bugfix.
Previously, the texture would offset depending on the brush size. This was a bug for those using pixelart patterns and sharp patterns. It was fixed to be brush-size independant. when rotating the brushsize does slightly change by the standards of the computer.(the hight and width change, ergo the brush size is changing, think the computer) So that might have been a bug...? |

Ah, that makes sense. I do notice looking more closely at the comparison image I made that the texture on the 2.7 side is offset rather than rotating with the brush. It's good that it's fixed for people using sharp patterns.
![]() However, I did rather like the effect that I got with the pattern being offset. It'd be pretty cool to have the option to have it work the old way too. Hm... Thinks about making a feature request. ![]() |
