Hi,
Installed the newest Krita on Windows 8.1. It makes automatically a shortcut to my desktop and I can't remove it, with or without administrator rights. Anyone knows a solution how to get rid of the shortcut? I like to keep my desktop clean. |

I think we've already got bugs for that in bugs.kde.org -- the shortcut management system we use is a bit problematical, and fixing it properly is really hard. But saving shortcuts _should_ work, even on Windows...

What do you mean by "saving shortcuts"?
I'd like to delete that Krita shortcut. I supposed there should be some kind of Force Delete in windows, no? |

Oh!
Sorry... I got confused, and was thinking about shortcuts in the application. I actually have very little idea of how the desktop shortcuts work and how they are made... I need help with that problem. |

Is this a regular "Windows Desktop" shortcut, or one in the Metro UI? Can you please provide a screenshot of it?
Usually Windows stores regular desktop shortcuts in %USERPROFILE%\Desktop or C:\Users\All Users\Desktop.

![]() It is a regular desktop shortcut. This problems haven't gone anywhere with new 2.8 Krita. |

Can you try to locate where it is stored? It could be in the All Users / Public Desktop - which you'll require additional permissions (even if you're an Administrator - as long as UAC is enabled) to modify.

Wow! Located it in Admin account in C:\Users\Public\Desktop and just deleted it without any nagging.
![]() Well thanks for help! I just love the help and support from OpenSource community. I think it is the hearth of many things! |
