Hi there everyone. This is my first post. I'm interested in using Krita more. I have Mac and Ubuntu systems at home. Unfortunately, my Yiynova 19' display only works in the Mac OS. Since there's no Mac version of Krita, does anyone know of any plans to build linux drivers for the non-Wacom tablets?
It would be great to paint on screen with Krita. Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for making such a wonderful painting tool!!!! Best Stephen:) |

There is some support for non-wacom tablets, but it depends on available Linux support and the hardware that available to the developers. If the tablet doesn't have Linux support at all there isn't much we can do about it.

Thanks for the quick response! I've been donating every month to a different software in lieu of a monthly Adobe subscription. This month I plan to give to Krita.
I see that there's a Mac port in the future. Is that something that's close. In the meanwhile, I can use my Ubuntu system and old Wacom. Thanks again! S:) |

Hm, I would look through the 'Krita + non-wacom' tablets thread. Yiynova uses the UC-logic digitiser, also used in the Monoprice tablet.
Otherwise, google for people who are trying to get UC-logic or Monoprice tablets working in Linux. |

Not really. It's not so much a matter of hardware, as a matter of manpower. I've got a mac mini at home, but I simply haven't got the _time_ for another platform. I do windows hacking and builds... I work on Linux... And I need to sleep. There's a lot to be done to make the mac port worth it, and while Yue Liu is doing sterling work, there really needs to be a mac-fan involved who really wants to put in the time needed. Everyone with a mac has free access to compilers and all the tools needed -- someone must step up and start doing the work! |

I know it takes a lot of effort to create a fundraiser like Indiegogo, but do you think that would help. I think that especially with your 2.8 release, a funding to bring Krita to Mac might help. Money always is a wonderful incentive:) I only wish I was a programmer and could help out. I can however through money your way and I'm sure there are others that could do the same.
