I have a bunch of images made for print. They are all 5121 X 3200 px at 300 dpi. I also want to use them for a StoryBook app. Now, iOS uses the screen aspect ratio 4:3 and Android (mostly) 16:9 on their tablets. Both OS's uses different screen resolutions, like 2048x1536, 1536x768, 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x720 and so on... (it's a jungle)...
So: I want to crop to each image to the right aspect ratio first, and after that I set the right screen resolution. That works OK to do so in Painter and Photoshop. But in Krita I can not find a way to set the aspect ratio using the crop tool. I can just set the pixel dimensions. Am I right? I really like to see the Krita crop tool with both pixel dimensions settings and aspect ratio settings. That would make me happy... |

It's possible to lock the aspect ratio in Krita, but not yet to select a specific aspect-ratio. That would be pretty easy to add, though. A junior job for a new coder...

A specific aspect-ratio like 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, 3:2 and of course 1:1 would be great! That is what I am looking for. Pixels settings is already there, I found out. Aspect ratio would make Krita more complete. Have a nice weekend!

shasherazi: The crop tool has this feature since years now, and it's not hidden.
Check "Ratio" in tool option of the Crop Tool. You can even add mathematical expression on it, such as 4/3 or 16/10, etc... and lock it. |
