Slimming the Layer Dock

Thu Feb 20, 2014 6:33 pm
Is there any way to slim down the Layer panel to fit in with the rest of the bunch? I'm trying to eek out a smaller side bar, but out of all the docks, the Layer panel seems to be the chubby culprit.

I assume its because of these buttons here

This is the smallest I can shrink it's width. Every other panel's min width is 2/3rds this.
The button padding seems to be fine, but I could tighten up the spacing between buttons and make the images half the size.

Is there a text file to edit the sizes? Or does it go by physical image dimensions?

Thanks!

Actually, when experimenting this week it turns out it's not the buttons, but the actual layer view... There is a bug which I cannot find right now in bugs.kde.org about this issue, and that has a patch that puts the buttons into a toolbar that automatically pushes buttons into an overflow area when the docker gets smaller. But it's the layerview itself that determines the minimum width.
