If you do see your drawing when you disable opengl, try updating your display drivers. Chances are you're using an Intel graphics card and they only recently fixed a bug in their drivers.

I have the same problem- the only difference was halfway through a drawing after changing a setting with the mouse, Krita closed and when I reopened it, the problem occurred when returning to the rescued file. However when i go onto other drawings, I don't have this problem

Sorry, but you're not giving any useful information that we could use to begin helping you. It's not even certain or even likely that you're running into the original problem this thread was started about. You changed "a setting with the mouse" -- which setting? From what to what? We're not clairvoyant.
We need to know: * Your operating system and version, and if Windows, 32 or 64 bits. * Your graphics card and driver version * If you have one, the brand and type of your drawing tablet and the exact version number of the driver * The exact version of Krita you're using: give us both the exact filename of the version you downloaded and the exact version information in the about dialog * A step by step description of what you are doing. Preferably with screenshots or a video if you have trouble explaining yourself. * If the problem is about a particular file, that file. |

Hello, I have a similar issue. When I draw on the canvas the brush strokes don't appear but I can see them in the layer thumbnail and when I make the layer invisible the brush strokes magically appear. I can draw on the brush engines canvas smoothly without any issues so I really dont know whats wrong. I use Wacom Intuos Manga tablet and I should have the latest driver. My OS is Windows 10 (x64). I am really desperate and I'd be really thankful for an advice 8(

I'm going to bet you're using a laptop with an intel display chip and a broken driver. You'll have to disable opengl. Because Intel's about 90% of the Windows market, even a few broken driver versions give us a lot of bug reports, _but_ because it's so big, we don't have access to hardware that shows the problem, so we cannot reproduce it.
By now, I'm tempted to just buy one of the effing broken laptops, but a) nobody has ever told us which system they have, and b) I'm awfully sure that the revision I would get just wouldn't have one of the broken drivers. Still, on the off-chance: what is the absolutely exact brand, model, revision of your system? |

Okay so I disabled opengl and it's working now so thank you so much for that. The brand of my laptop is Lenovo and the exact model is Lenovo G580 (quite an oldie) with an Intel Core i3-2328M CPU. It's a 64x based PC. I'm not sure if that's everything you need though.

So, with mouse i can do everything BUT with touchscreen (using finger) i can't use Freehand Brush Tool or Multibrush (but works with Calligraphy or Freehand Path Tool) "I can't use" = dont draw in painting area, but works in brush selection I HAVE ALREADY TRIED to disable OpenGL , but still not works Pls help, really desperate :/ (Sorry for my english, i'm italian) |

No, finger-painting isn't enabled in Krita. Krita is meant to be used with a pressure sensitive stylus, otherwise you won't realize even a little of what Krita has to offer. This is totally unrelated to the problem some laptops with intel display chips have; that problem is that nothing is shown in the canvas until some other interface element is activated.
