I have problem with Krita v2.8 Beta 2. I can't draw anything/use other tools on image/painitg area/(or what you call it) but I only can draw in brush selection see screen shots. I have Wacom Intuos 5(CTL-480/S) but it happens with mouse too. Tested with and without kwin effects. And output from term: http://pastebin.com/8bUgxzy3. Gimp and others works correctly.
Thanks ![]() Screen shots: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1113 ... 2162536305

Hi,
Try removing .kde/share/apps/krita/input and start Krita again. |

Perhaps your system uses ~/.kde4/ instead of ~/.kde. Please try ~/.kde4/share/apps/krita/input instead.

To eliminate any user related configurations, could you try Krita under a new user account please?

I have to admit I'm stumped... If this occurs for a clean user with the default config it can't be something like a problem with the OpenGL driver. I've got an Intuos 5 as well, and that works fine for me -- but I'm using OpenSUSE. On the other hand, there are plenty of Ubuntu users. And in any case, if painting with the mouse also does't work it isn't a tablet issue.

Maybe there is something wrong in the translations files, because I suffer the same behavior If I set Krita language to "Spanish". It seems as if the canvas events get locked and nothing works on it, even the palette does not show. But on the brush little preview area I can paint just fine.
I'm using XFCE. Perhaps changing the language of krita to English (In my box is American English), it might work as expected.

Yes, I'm pretty sure now that this is what is going on. The input manager uses the translated name of every action to find the shortcuts. And then, of course, the default file for shortcut definitions is in English.
Good thing Ghevan found this _now_, now there's still time for a fix before the release! |

This should be fixed in master and in the 2.8 branch. Phew! Would have been a _bad_ bug to have in 2.8.0!

I am having similar problems on the 2.8 upgrade on ubuntu 13.10. I have a monprice 3x4 tablet.
I would open whatever canvas and try to sketch/doodle/scribble/whatever on the canvas and nothing happens but the program registers that I did something since the undo option is available and I am asked if I want to save my progress when I exit out. I put my tablet pen down and use the touchpad on my laptop, it works fine. I know it's not that I have the color set to white because I have tried all the colors I can think of and nothing pops up at all unless I swtich to touchpad. THis is baffling since krita was previously the only program I used on ubuntu that autoregistered my tablet and had correct pen pressure. I haven't installed any drivers or anything but krita picked it up while I had to fiddle with GIMP [but then I do that on my Windows laptop too...]. Even ubuntu doesn't recognize my tablet other than as a nice pointer or plug in mouse. |

Which version did you previously? As far as I know monoprice tablets on Linux weren't working at all with Krita 2.7, at least, that's what users reported... And I haven't had time to make my Huion work on Linux yet, but that at least has been reported to work with 2.8.

Krita worked just fine on 2.7 That was the first version i picked up and used. I am not sure what monoprice tablets they were using but mine is one of the smaller cheaper ones so there is that.
Here is the art I made with it here: http://mitzumikare.deviantart.com/art/M ... -437982807 My tablet isn't pressure sensitive in GIMP nor photoshop nor MyPaint but it's excellent in Paint Tool Sai and previously, Krita thus the confusion. |

Currently having a similar problem on Krita Desktop 2.9.1.
Load Krita, Make a new A3 size presentation, select brush - but I can't paint on the workspace. I know it's registering my strokes because I can see them in the layer thumbnail, but the workspace itself stays blank. The mouse doesn't appear when hovering over the workspace either. I'm using a Wacom Bamboo Pen with it's latest drivers for Windows 7 but the same thing happens when just using the mouse. MyPaint, GIMP all work fine. I'm thinking this might be a driver problem, but what do I know. Would really appreciate a fix. |
