.psd layers not importing properly

Thu Mar 06, 2014 5:40 am
Hi, I'm new to Krita, and I have an issue: Most of my .psd paintings from Photoshop CS5 are not importing properly. One very small one works, another imports flattened as a single layer, and another displays some off black geometric shapes (somewhat like a bar code) instead of my picture. What should I do?

Hm... In the first place, check whether you are using group layers. If so, you're not in luck: those aren't supported yet, and the spec is ghastly beyond imagination. It was being worked on, but the work got stalled. Text and vector objects also aren't supported, I am afraid, and are even harder than group layers.

If it's not group layers or vector objects, you may have created files that expose a genuine bug in Krita, which we'd love to fix. Go to http://bugs.kde.org and file a bug. Either attach the files, or if private, share them with me.
