First Time User (installation woes)

Mon Mar 31, 2014 12:06 am
So I'm attempting to switch over to Krita, I install the software fine and I find it doesn't register pen pressure. I test my tablet in another program and it works as it should, so I'm sure the problem is with Krita. I go to Configure Krita under the setting tab and get this error

I search around and find that windows is trying to run a 64 bit file as a 32 bit, farther than that I don't know how to fix it. Anyone else with similar experiences, or happen to know the solution? I want to give this program a fair shot but it getting to the threshold where it more trouble fixing it than it's worth.

Are you sure you downloaded the x86 version of Krita, not the x64 version?

The first package I install was Krita Desktop (x64) 2.8.1.1, I couldn't find a x86 version

I'm going back and installing krita_x86_2.7.9.5 and seeing if that will work.

Edit: I still had no pen pressure, but I could get as far as the settings dialogue, I'm trying 2.8 again.

;D I still get a warning that I'm running a 32 bit build on a 64 bit system but pen pressure works, thanks.

The link http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_ ... .8.1.1.msi is gone. Is there any link for the last stable version for XP ?

Nope :(

Unfortunatly XP support was dropped as Microsoft supported it, because it was just too difficult to maintain(buggy).
