I hate to be a bother on this one, but the bugfix release has been around for two days, and this PPA is still telling me I have the latest version installed. I'm beginning to think Kubuntu Backports is really far behind on its Krita packages, because I'm still on 2.8.0. I didn't even get 2.8.1.
Am I going to have to bite the bullet and install from source, or is there are more up-to-date PPA I can install this from? I've tried scowering Krita Lime and Kubuntu Backports PPA package lists manually for updated packages, and that was a bust too. |

Im not sure this is the best place to ping ppa backports builders, but it certainly made me curious.
On the ubuntu ppa site, there seems to be a 2.8.2 version built (https://launchpad.net/~scarlett-7/+archive/kubuntu-ppa ), so it's just a matter of time to hit the main backports repos. However it seems there is also a 2.8.1 in the main backports. Im not very familiarized with the backports system of the ubuntu versioning that makes 2.8.1 missing a string to be invisible to your system. (or maybe its invisible in general?) Probably the best thing to do is to contact them directly trough mail.

You're right, ghevan, I hadn't thought about emailing them directly about this. It's good to know later distributions of Ubuntu are getting the release, so if there's a delay in the 12.04 backport that I need, that would make sense. I'll ask about this seeing as it's been two days since the bugfix release was posted on Krita's mainsite.
I installed 2.8.0 through the kubuntu backports PPA normally, so something has to be up. |
