Greetings,
I've recently started using Krita after many years of using GIMP, and so far I'm really enjoying the Krita experience for doing cartoon-style artwork. One thing I haven't been able to work out yet though: while I've been able to copy/import my GIMP palette files into Krita and use them through the Palette docker, I can't find how to create a new Palette in Krita to add colours to. Is this a current Krita feature, or am I missing something? Regards, Terry |

There is currenly no way to add a new palette yet. That will be added soon.

Thanks. Don't know if it is possible, but perhaps Krita could re-use the same Pallet maintenance functionality as GIMP (if this isn't already being considered). http://docs.gimp.org/2.8/en/gimp-concepts-palettes.html |

A workaround for now (aside from using a layer to keep colour swatches like many do) could be to create your palette as color spots on a separate image file and then loading the image on a Reference Image docker, wich has the interesting ability to stay on top of your image and the color picker appearing as soon as your pointer is over it.

We do use the same palette format(s) as Gimp -- in 2.9 that will include Photoshop ACO files -- but we do need to do some work to making creating new palettes possible. It's on the todo...
