I have installed Krita 2.7.9.6. but I can't use it, something is missing and seems that I deleted the instalation pack, so I've downloaded the new version of Krita from here http://kritastudio.com/desktop.html . Maybe can i have help to install it? Windows Installer says that probably is not a valid package, I tried use two commands from the internet but nothing happen. Hello everyone, I am having the same problem. I have a 64-bit Windows 8.1 and I downloaded the 64-bit Krita installer. I get this error message:

"The installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."

Please help, I really want to start drawing on this computer

Edit: I did some research and this version of Krita was apparently released 16 hours ago at the time of this writing. What are the odds that I would come across it that quickly? Possibly it is a bug on their side then and not on my side.

Hm, I've just given both installers a try. The x86 installer worked fine the first time. I tried the x64 installer, and with that one, on one laptop, the installer application crashed the first time I ran it; it ran fine the second time. That was win 8.0. On a win 8.1 laptop, the both installers ran fine the first time.

Strangely enough I was able to install it onto my other computer just now. I will have to try my second computer again later, maybe if I download it again it will work. I had paused the download and restarted the computer there, it's a new computer, so maybe that corrupted the file or something.
