HSV Slider?  Topic is solved

Thu May 22, 2014 4:32 pm
These aren't feature requests so much as just things I haven't been able to confirm/deny they exist :P

Is there an HSV Slider somewhere? I've found all sorts of various sliders and things but not just a regular old HSV slider.

Also this one is probably more of a stretch but is there any lazy mouse setting available? Something such as this, though not necessarily all the bells and whistles that thing has. (Blender also has it with the Smooth Mouse setting in Sculpt/Paint).

There is no HSV slider, sliders are only available for real colorspaces. The advanced color selector docker has some option which come close though.

There is a weighted soomthing option in the tool options of the brush tool.

Yes, there is a wishbug for those sliders :) (And probably future improvement, I could code it pretty easily, but there's some awkwardness in the colour selectors that need adressing first, and I haven't got around to that)

However, if you really need some kind of HSV input, you can double click the active color to get the QT color picker. It'll enable you to input H, S and V values, as well as hex colors. Do note that unlike most other programs, Krita's S and V values are measure in 0-255 instead of 0-100%.

Ah, that weighted smoothing is pretty cool and I never noticed it.

HSV sliders are not a super critical thing for me. I am planning on doing some Krita tutorial videos and was mostly double-checking. Half the time I think Krita is missing something and then someone immediately corrects me, so I was just making sure. :P

How about guides? I see an option to snap to guides in the snap settings docker but I'm not sure what guides it is referring to.

Aaaaah. That might be left-over Karbon functionality.

Krita's vector tools are basically the KDE vector tool program being thrust into action, and not all functionality is there, like guides :/
As Karbon has been abandoned, there's going to be serious effort to update the vector functionality in Krita after 3.0 (Which'll be a port from QT 4.8 to QT 5). So if you do come across something related to the vector tools, feel free to make a bugreport about it, those will be reffered to then :)

Oh, a golden tip I got from Animtim recently: There's the inherit alpha button on paint-layers right? The same functionality is actually available on Vector layers and Group layers, but there's no button. Instead, you go into layer-options and untick the alpha channel. This has the same effect.

Also, HDR colour picking in the selectors just got available in Master, which might be interesting to a hand-texture paint guy like yourself. (As it'll allow you to create handpainted exr files :) )

Aye, if I notice something I'll report it -- though it is tough for me to determine what is supposed to be there and what isn't sometimes. I don't keep up on Krita dev as closely as I do Blender (which is kind of ironic given I'm more a 2d artist than 3d).

I just built earlier today and there are quite a few new toys I noticed. Mirror actually have visible guides :0 (though they don't seem to follow rotating the canvas yet).
