Hello Kriters.
I use linux ubuntu 14.04. When I installed the OS in my computer, i downloaded krita following the instructions that are on the donwload page. "To get the last stable version use the following PPA: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita sudo apt-get install kritasketch (otherwise you won't have the sketch brush in 2.8.0) kbuildsycoca4" I in that way i got the v.2.8.1 Since that, v2.8.2 and v2.8.3 had been launched but I am not able to upgrade. If I follow the isnstructions, I only have to open terminal and execute the same lines again. If I do, terminal downloads stuff, but nothing happens. My version is the same. I have tried to completly unistall krita and download it again, but the same. It only installs v2.8.1 |

It seems that Kubuntu has not packaged 2.8.2 and 2.8.3 yet -- best ask them about it, since we don't do packaging ourselves.

After some days lurking, seeing websites, and asking them on forums,
I have constated that they have v2.8.2 currently on the repositories, and 2.8.3 (they say) is gonna be soon. To obtain v2.8.2, I also had to add to the previous lines this one sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/ppa then do sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita And it worked. Note is not the line it ends in backports, but ends in ppa. Maybe you should want to add this info on the downloads page, so users that doesn't have so much experience with linux, migh solve this problem. |
