Lag Time on Filter Brushes

Tue Jul 01, 2014 11:09 am
I notice a spectacular delay when making a few passes with the default blur filter brushes on even a small 1024x600 image (Windows latest build by B). I'm talking a few minutes. To its credit, it's not a crash, it even remembers to add strokes from a regular paintbrush that I switched to while waiting just to see if it was locked up. Is this a known issue, is there a workaround, and is there a progress bar to see anywhere? Am I doing it wrong?

A little bit of infinity makes up for a lot of nothingness.

I think that it's time for me to figure out how to add fftw to our windows build -- it's a library that makes all convolution (and blur is convolution) operations much faster. It's just a disaster to build with msvc.
