My issue is that I ink with a small brush, but I always erase with a large one. I need to be able to switch between them and my other brushes quickly. Here are the problems:
1. E activates eraser mode, which does not help me work fast, because I need to erase in a much larger size, -*not* the same size brush, and having to switch BOTH size and mode is a time waster. 2. Switching between favorite presets with , and . only lets me switch one at a time, which is time consuming. 3. Switching between presets does not remember temporary brush size, which means wasted time as I have to readjust it. Sure, I could just make another preset, but I feel like I shouldn't need to. Since there is no dedicated eraser button (other than the erase mode, but I hate using that because of reason #1), I have to constantly click over to my preset buttons when I feel I should be using keyboard shortcuts. So here's the question: is there a way to assign individual brushes keyboard shortcuts? Clip Studio Paint and Sai can do this. I looked at the shortcut settings, but apparently brush mode is the only button. ![]() |

It's currently not possible. We got a lot of request to be able to bind a preset to a shortcut and it's high on the list of things I want to implement yet. It will need a bit of investigation on temporary vs persistant preset and how that should be handled.

Yeah, I think those would be useful. The eraser mode would not be an issue if each mode remembered its own brush size each time I switched (even if temporarily). It's just that switching between each preset takes too much time, and it adds up since doing so resets to default settings each time.

your request has been granted!! viewtopic.php?f=137&t=123333
I am going to add a patch to master tonight that gives you a separate brush size while you are in eraser mode. I have the same pain point. |
