Building a PC

Wed Oct 22, 2014 2:32 pm
Greetings all,

I'm currently looking at assembling a new computer for digital art, and will mostly be using Krita. I've read up on the best builds for running photoshop and was wondering if there were any major differences I should be aware of when designing a pc for Krita instead?

Thanks for your help!

Krita is a bit more memory-hungry than Photoshop, so memory is more important than, say, a high-end GPU. For the rest... A good screen, a nice tablet, and you should be good to go :-)

Thanks for the fast response!

I'm thinking 16GB RAM, plus a dedicated SSD for Krita, CS5 and working files. Hoping that's sufficient - constant crashing and the general slowness of my laptop has been crippling my workflow!
