Is it possible to animate in Krita?

If so, then where can I find more in depth information on this?

There is currently a animation plug-in that's technically there, but not ready for production at all. But it's going to be re-factored and if the interested animation studio is willing to pay for it, made fully usable.

As TheraHedwig said, we have a work-in-progress animation plugin, that already has very basic timeline and onionskin for paint layers, but that is far from stable or production ready.

Another way to use Krita to draw animation is to use group layers for each frame and use the special "group switch" shortcut to go from one to the other (check the Settings->Configure Shortcuts menu, and search for group..). This way you can have complete composition with full-featured layers inside each group, but that is quite tedious to use, so not recomended for big work.

I was just thinking it would be nice if we had a spriter plugin. Like this one.

Hm, maybe -- but that's a proprietary application. I'm not sure how eager I'd be to spend time supporting that, instead of working on, say, the animation plugin in Krita.
