I'm trying to assign my most used shortcuts to keys on the numpad but Krita seems to be giving me some problems as it doesn't unbind the old function, resulting in a key that does two things at once.
For example; if I set 5 on the numpad to toggle the eraser mode, it will toggle the eraser but it will also reset the canvas rotation. With numlock turned off, assigning anything to 8,6,4 or 2 will also nudge the canvas view around. Programs like Gimp and Mypaint don't seem to have any issue with shortcuts on the numpad conflicting with the other keys so I'm wondering, have I overlooked something with this program or does Krita not recognize the numpad as its own set of keys? |

That's strange it should... Did you turn on/off 'numlock' to have the keyboard sent different keypresses for numpad keys?

i haven't the time, this minute to find the dual function problem, but... the 'nudging' with numlock Off is due to the idea that without numlock the 8,6,4 and 2 keys are, from 'the old days', Arrow Keys. 8 being 'up', 6 'left' etc. Reed. |

Just tried out the new 3.0 alpha and this problem still persists.
Is this likely to be fixed at some point? |

Not yet, shortcuts have dramatically improved, but the problem here is that formally, as far as Krita itself cares, canvas-input settings are not shortcuts. You'll need to manually remove the hotkey from canvas input settings till then. |
