Hi,
I'm Linux Mint user, some time ago I've installed LM 17.1 and then, out of nowhere Krita 2.8.5 stopped working.
Previously (on Mint 17) there was no problem if Krita 2.8.2(or 2.8.1) was installed first and then upgraded to 2.8.5 from Kubuntu backports ppa.
Now there is only version 2.8.5 in official Mint ppa - after installation and first run there is popping error message about lack of some important componetns, something about kbuildsycoca4 and Krita is closing. After some experiments I decided to install kdelibs-bin and Krita started but not for long.
This message appears every time after fresh PC start... and Krita is closing.
When I run kbuildsycoca4 in Terminal and click on Krita activator on Cinnamon panel... Krita is starting without a problem.
This is the message that shows after I type kbuildsycoca4 in Terminal:

kbuilsycoca4(9257): "applications.menu" not found in ("/home/.../.config/menus/" , "/etc/xdg/menu/")

Do you guys have any idea what is happenig and what can be done to resolve this problem?

I had this same problem. See my post in the Krita News and Discussion forum for the solution. Be sure to read the entire thread.

Sorry for late reply. I already have packages from your post and there are still some problems... good news is, that today Krita started normally. I'm gonna test it tomorrow and will see what happens.
