After I first installed Krita, each run would display a splash screen showing links and recent files, and the splash screen remained visible until manually closed. After a few runs I chose the option on the splash screen to hide it after startup. It now shows only very briefly then disappears as Krita starts. QUESTION: How do I reinstate the original behaviour of the splash screen so that it remains visible after startup? (I have tried a software repair, and also a complete Uninstall and Reinstall - but neither reinstated the original splash screen behaviour). ...Thanks, ...Phil.

Go to edit/resources/open resource folder. That will open an explorer window. Close Krita. Go up, up, into the config folder and open the file called 'kritarc' in notepad. Locate the entry 'HideSplashAfterStartup' and set that to false. (Or remove that line).

Hi, I have the same problem, but I am on Mac OS X, and opening Edit > Resources > Open Resources Folder doesn't do anything.

I did look inside Krita's package contents, and I found a file called "kritarc" (inside Krita\Contents\share\config), but it does not contain anything mentioning the splash screen. How would I go about re-enabling the splash screen in Mac OS X?

Thanks.

That's probably because Qt's default way of opening a file browser doesn't work on OSX....

The kritarc in the krita.app folder is the default one, it doesn't have the HideSplashAfterStartup entry because the default is not to hide the splash. Your own kritarc is somewhere else, in a settings directory in your user folder. I don't know where, though! Maybe OSX's sherlock can find your local kritarc?
