I placed brushes into the paintoppresets folder. Somehow, an 'X' icon appears over it. I managed to get the brushes to load without it before, but I cannot remember how. Please help. I would really love to use those brushes. Thank you in advance.

The x appears when the brush tip cannot be found.

Is there any way I can make them be found?

Put everything with a .kpp suffix into the paintoppresets folder, all the brush file like .gbr in the brushes folder.

I already tried putting the .kpp files into the paintoppresets folder, but the problem continues to happen.
