Hi,
is there any way to change direction of ctrl+space zooming? I find it very unnatural to zoom using vertical gesture, at is puts a lot more strain on the wrist when using mouse. Other than that, Krita is really amazing, but this little problem comes into way a lot since i zoom quite frequently. Thanks in advance. |

If you are using a mouse, why not use the scroll-wheel? (Or the + and - keys on the keyboard).

I am just used to the ctrl+space zoom as it's a bit more fluid

I think Ctrl+Space zoom should be changed so zoom would be omnidirectional. This way people could drag mouse in any direction they want to.

lordy that was weird to try out. I've never had a problem with it, but apparently it's because I use it diagonally. Maybe try it that way as a compromise?

You still need to know in which direction it zooms in and where it zooms out. It's a bit like joysticks in the old days with are the reverse direction stuff. |

I would go with photoshop standard, since that's where most of the users trying out Krita will come. That means right = zoom in, and left = zoom out.
So yeah, it would be perhaps smart to make it work in three angles, vertical, diagonal and horizontal. Either all at once, or switch somewhere in the options. So it would work as following: Vertical: north is zoom in, south is zoom out Diagonal: north-east is zoom in, south-west is zoom out Horizontal: east is zoom in, west is zoom out ![]() |

Agreed, though both diagonals (north-east=>south-west and north-west=>south-east) should be covered.
