I've got Krita 2.9 (beta2) installed form Lime PPA in Ubuntu 14.04 (standard Unity).
Krita never showed up in launcher so I had to create a .desktop file for it.
Code: Select all
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Krita
Comment=Krita
Exec=krita
Icon=/usr/share/icons/oxygen/128x128/mimetypes/application-x-krita.png
Type=Application
Terminal=false
Categories=Application;Graphics;
MimeType=kra

Now I can't open .kra files from the system, I don't get any suggestions for apps when choosing open with, neither is Krita present in the list of other applications. .kra doesn't seem to be recognized at all from the system, it's icon is just a generic text document one.

How can I get Krita and .kra properly integrated in my Ubuntu 14.04 desktop?

Yeah, for some reason, lime ppa installs krita in an obscure place: the root/opt/project-neon/krita/bin

I think you should be able to associate .kra files with that bin?

It's not intergrated anywhere really well beyond kde desktops though :/
