how do I get back to brush?

I am trying to follow a krita tutorial. It said to press shift R for the symmetry axis. I hit Ctrl R. Now I am in some strange tool. I cannot get back to the brush I had. How do I get back to brush mode?

Ctrl-r activates the rectangular selection tool by default. To get back to brush, either press 'b' or select the brush icon in the toolbar. To get rid of the selection, choose select/deselect or press ctrl-shift-a.
