Join with segment / merge points

Sat Feb 14, 2015 5:03 pm
Hi,

a few quick questions about freehand path drawing:
- I draw a freehand path, lift my pen, then want to continue drawing so that I have not two paths but one, how do I do this (I tried continuing from the white endpoint that appears, but still get two separate paths)?
- If I have two paths, how do I join them into one path? I tried selecting one path, then Ctrl-selecting the second one (the two are now selected), then with the path editing tool selecting two overlapping points and click on "merge points" (in the path editing tool options), but nothing seemed to happen? Whatever I do, still two paths and the points don't move?
- Same with "join segments", how does this work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance. (I'm rather comfortable with Inkscape but new to Krita).

I have been trying for hours and not luck.
You can slip an existing path and merge the newly splitted points but,
I am unable to join to separate curves.

I always downgraded from 3 to the 2.9.11 stable but still the same issue

Joining two paths is currently not possible. Each path can have subpaths (e.g. when you split the path), which can be merged but paths as a whole can't be merged at the moment. Improvement to the vector stuff is planned, but will take some time.

Thanks for sending the confirmation, I believe I could make some damage with Krita Vector Tool, it is so awesome, that's a real shame
that this is not a priority it is so awesome because it is like painting in vector!:
This is what I have done with Inkscape:

I believe I could do a lot better in Krita If I could merge two paths.

It there a way to extend an existing path, because even if I move the cursor at the end of an existing path it still create a new path,
Which does not share the gradient of the first path?
If this works then my problem is solved!

Thanks
