Hello,

I am using Krita 2.9 and I have noticed that whatever shortcut I assign to the Brush Setting window (called "Painter's tool" when you go in the toolbar configuration window), it does not work.
I have tried assigning standard shortcuts ('O' or whatever), F shortcuts (F5, F7), ctrl+alt+something, ctrl+shift+something, but none work.

Am I doing something wrong or is it broken? other custom shortcuts work no problem, it is just this particular window that refuses to appear.
Thank you.

edit :
I am using Win7 64 bits if it matters.

I've been told that is not possible at the moment, for me a workaround is to keep the dialog open as a window, by detaching it. I wish this and the "select color" were open-able by shortcuts, but not a deal breaker though.

select color

Shift+i gives you the advanced colour selector, you can customise it's shape.

Select colour is limited in regards to colour management and will be replaced some day.

What I meant was the dialog that opens when we click on the "color" button in the toolbar, so far this is the only one I am aware of where one can use the color picker to get colors out of krita's window, but I would like to know if there is another way, that single feature keeps me going for the tiny square buttons (foreground and background colors) and my poor sight is of no help :D

yeah, I know what you mean, the problem with that window though is that it conflicts with our colour management, hence me saying ti'll be replaced some day :/

What prevents you from making a screenshot and opening that as a seperate image in Krita? You can set krita to subwindow mode in the settings, so you can go over and colour pick any time you'd like...

I don't want to sound like I'm just complaining, I just curious, the main problem here (and following the first comment) is not that color management in itself its at fault, not for me as user, is the shortcut availability, nothing stop me from having many windows open with all sort of images, but that is not really practical specially when I experiencing some glitches and crashes while using the subwindow feature. In that case hunting the little buttons to pick the color are more convenient. I can use shortcuts way faster than moving my cursor away from the canvas, most items in the toolbar are already accessible through shortcuts, hence the my previous comments, on why on my humble opinion I think it would be great if it was possible, again not a deal breaker, I enjoying krita just the same.

Ah, no, I wasn't annoyed at you either, I was just saying that we will revise that window in the future and trying to indicate that means we could add the shortcut.

I am annoyed at that we tries to revise the window before, but it failed, because otherwise we would have been able to implement the code for a better shortcut now!

I didn't realized (not a tech/programming oriented person here) that the shortcut would be tied to the actual dialog, I see what you mean now, good thing there are always workarounds for this minor issues.
