Hello,
I am a complete newbie to Krita and am keen to try it out. Unfortunately whenever I create a new document or open a picture to work on (.jpg) it only shows a black panel. Here's a picture of the problem: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8cESfcHYK8mc3pKSGt5VXR2d2M/view?usp=sharing Thanks, Phil. |

Then you very likely have an Intel GPU and an outdated driver. Intel went through a bad patch with their drivers in 2014, breaking Krita. Krita's actually a pretty simple user of opengl, but we are using some newer features that they apparently have trouble with because they're not usually used in games. If you update to the latest driver (10.18.14 or later) you should be fine.

Mmmm,
Thank you, unfortunately whenever I try to install I get "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I have a Dell 15 - 1547 i7 machine with a secondary AMD Radeon R7 M265 I have tried to enable that for usage with Krita but am clueless if I did so or whether it is not functioning there too - AMD Catalyst is not exactly user friendly - at least to me! Any clues as to how to fix this will be greatly received. Thank you, Phil. ![]() |

Ahh...
I installed the latest AMD Catalyst version and it spotted the INTEL driver and installed it for me... Thank you, Phil. |
