I have been trying a few linux distros on my tablet pc lately and while touch works(not flawlessly, depending on app) i can't get touch gestures to work in krita(like zooming and panning). Is something different with the 2.9 version?
Currently i am trying Opensuse, but i also tried ubuntu gnome live cd, just to make sure it wasn't a disto related problem(maybe it's gnome, idk). I am about to try other distros but i am trying to find out if this is krita-related. Any ideas?? I remember in 2.8 version i had to install krita sketch as well, but there is no such package in opensuse and i don't think it's updated for 2.9 in ubuntu repositories. |

I still have to port Sketch to the MVC refactoring. It's taking more time than it should because I haven't got that much time at the moment

Thanks for the quick update on that boud!
Is it possible to install gemini in linux? it may be an easier way to go about it? gemini is also not available in suse but there is 2.8 version in ubuntu. situation is a bit clunky at the moment, we got gmic in linux and touch in win. hope you really manage to crack it. do you want me to file a bug report or do anything else in order to help? |

No... A bug report won't help much now. Krita Gemini is available on Linux, but only in the 2.8 release: for 2.9, I need to first port sketch, then fix Gemini.

Hi, i find it a bit alarming that there are krita features that are working on windows that aren't on linux.
Idon't mind a Windows (or MacOs) port really but i think linux as the primary and only open platform of the three should stay number one priority. Greetings Torpak |

Uhm, if you want to have all features working on linux first, how about you go to the tablet driver makers/desktop enviroment men, and get them to create a unified linux touch system, we cannot give better touch support.
To wit, wacom touch gestures work for me, but Panz must have a different driver. |

Well, to be honest i don't know where the problem lies TheraHedwig.
As i said i have a tablet-pc( wacom stylus and touchscreen). Everything works fine in krita(pen pressure) except touch gestures by hand(like panning and zooming). I can use pinch to zoom on chromium for example. So i don't know where to look for the issue. Krita 2.8 used to work fine with touchscreen on linux. The touchscreen is an atmel driver in my table pc while the pen is wacom. I think that the misunderstanding is that you have a wacom pen 'n touch or similar graphics tablet while i use a touchscreen and pen, am i right? Anyway, i never meant or hinted that you must fix it or anything like that, just trying to figure out if it has something to do with krita or the disto i am using. Btw, what desktop enviroment are you using(so i can give it a try)? |

It was toward torpak's reply, don't worry.
Some people have had succes using touchégg as an intermediate between Krita and the touch driver, maybe this is an option? |

@TheraHedwig
I am sorry i didn't say that clearly enough. I was talking about sketch/gemeni in 2.9. I certainly agree that the driver situtation is beyond kritas scope. |
