I am new to Ubuntu Linux.
I am running 14.04 on my desktop and laptop. I am having trouble installing Krita 2.9. I am currently running Krita 2.9 on Windows 7 64bit ultimate, but, I prefer running Krita on Ubuntu because it performs better. I've used the following PPA as show on the Krta.org website: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dimula73/krita sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita-2.9 It installs but no icon appears when I search through my apps and it cancels my previous install of Krita 2.8.5. Do I need to perform something else before I use: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dimula73/krita sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita-2.9 Thank you in advance and please remember that I am very new to Ubuntu Linux when writing your response. |

I've run in similar problem with Lubuntu; it's seems like fail to put the icon link.
You should be anyway able to run Krita with: /opt/project-neon/bin/krita ([alt+f2] or terminal) |

When you're installing Krita using the PPA , you will also have to install the icons and launchers
Use this set of command and you should be ok ![]()
These will create a copy of krita icon in the icons directory . |
