Hi foggyrose321,
In Krita 2.9 a brush is usually referred to as a "Brush Preset" (sometimes simply as "Preset"), and it's made of "UP TO" 3 files: 1. a "preset", with the core settings (*.kpp) 2. a "brush", or predefined texture for the tip (*.gbr - or *.gih/*.png/*.gih/*.jpg) 3. a "pattern" image used by the preset settings (*.pat - or *.png/*.jpg) These 3 files reside respectively within the following folders: 1. {your home folder}/.kde (or .kde4)/share/apps/krita/paintoppresets/ 2. {your home folder}/.kde (or .kde4)/share/apps/krita/brushes/ 3. {your home folder}/.kde (or .kde4)/share/apps/krita/patterns/ For what I know, they can also be organized in subfolders to maintain the main folder, tidy. That said, to install your new brushes in Krita 2.9, you can: A) manually copy all the files within the folders above and then restart Krita, or you can B) automatically import your files by using the new "Manage Resource Bundles" that is found in (main menu) "Settings" -> "Manage Resources..." and then restart Krita. The files to import can be compressed, e.g. "*.bundle" files, or the single files mentioned in the list above. By using the second method you can also create your own bundles, being them "presets", "brushes", "patterns", "workspaces", "palettes", "gradients". |
