I am using the git version of Krita because 2.9 is still unavalable in Gentoo. I saw that there was an updated version of Krita and I wanted to see what changes where made. So, today I tried to update Krita from git (which I have done several times succesfully) and everything seemed to install just fine. But at the end of the terminal lists I got this message.
I wasn't really sure what to do so I ran "export KDEDIRS=$HOME/kde4/inst:$KDEDIRS" and "export PATH=$HOME/kde4/inst/bin:$PATH" to see if this is what it needed, however it is still not working. I even tried to run it from the directory ~/kde4/build/krita/ and got this error . Also, from the menu I get popup error
How would I fix this so I can use Krita again? I would greatly appreciate the assistance. Thank you. ![]()

Well, I rebooted my system and every thing works just like it is supposed to.
![]() I am glad that the installation didn't fail. I just don't understand why it would give those errors after doing the update. ![]() This is a little off topic of the git install, but when I started up Krita, I noticed that the icons for the opacity and size are much biger. Maybe it is just me, but I don't remember them being that large. It looks ugly! Is there any way to change them to a slimmer demmention? Thanks ![]() |

I think that what happened is that you updated some system components like the kde libraries as well. As for opacity and size, do you mean the sliders? They may be a bit higher now that the text is inside the sliders.

Hello boudwijn,
![]() It is the hight of the sliders, they are much wider than they used to be. I like the bars to be as thin as possible to give me more room for my drawing window. Thanks for the reply. |

Hi
After all the discussion the question still remains. Krita 2.9.4 is unable to be installed in LinuxMint 17.1. Where do we go from here. I have been unable to install from Dmitry's ppa it keeps saying that the file is broken and that various components and dependencies are missing. I uninstalled 2.9.3 which was running well and 2.9.4 doesn't install at all. In fact it practically refuses to install. Any ideas. Is this problem going to be resolved Many thanks |

We are working on it, the new ppa is here: https://launchpad.net/~kritalime/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
I don't know if it works yet, but they've been tinkering with it. I am sure that the old ppa breaking was an accident, it's supossed to be gradual. |

So, does that mean the "http://ppa.launchpad.net/dimula73/krita/ubuntu" will be deactivated?

As far as I know the idea is that dimula73 will instead of building itself pull it's packages from the krita-lime main ppa, so don't worry. If it turns out dimula73 will be deactivated we will make it clear on the website. We're not going to randomly pull the rug under your feet ![]() |
