This may be a very basic question but do I have to un-install a previous Krita version to up-date to the latest?
I have been getting regular up-dates for 32 bit in Ubuntu 14.04 desktop with no problems but I also run Linux Mint 17.1 on an AMD 64 computer and the up-grades have begun to act strangely. Sometimes the program pops up minimised. Other times it overfills the screen and does not display the menus or min/max-close icons.
This only happens on the 64 bit version and only in Linux Mint.

Yes, you cannot mix the Ubuntu krita with Krita lime's krita. If Krita is too tall for the screen check that the toolbox fits: if not, make it wider, so you get more columns of icons.
