ok I got impatient and used a build that probably wasn't meant for public download yet
![]() but I notice layer styles don't work with inherit alpha? Is it a known issue? 1.Make a group layer 2. add layer inside group and make some paint blob or something 3. add a new layer, make a stroke, add layer style like out glow or something. 4. hit inherit alpha, doesn't work. I post here, because I think official 2.9.3 release is 2moro, and was hoping it could be fixed so that I don't have to wait another month for it ![]() on windows 7 64-bit. |

Those are test builds indeed. The next official release will actually be numbered 2.9.4. We're not going to be able to fix anything in the meantime: right now 2.9.4 is being tagged, and will be released on Wednesday.

heres what happening btw
![]() as you can see its hiding the paint stroke layer (based on alpha of lowest layer) but its not hiding the glow part. |

Right. We discussed this on irc, and it's part of a general problem. Could you make a bug report at bugs.kde.org? Then we can look into it

Testing out the layer styles dev builds and stuff works great - for the most part. One thing I would like to see in a future build is for the layers style option to be part of the layers docker itself via right click and or part on the layers docker drop down menu as opposed to being only in the overhead layer option menu where it is currently housed. It would make more sense imo or at least a familiar option from those coming from a photoshop background. Other wise STELLAR work on adding this. I was genuinely surprised and pleased that this was added. Krita rocks.

Yeah, that's still coming up. We're still trying to get the basics right first

dmitryK is the primary developer working on, it because he's the one who's been paid to do it(it was a kickstarter feature, remember). Then there's boudewijn who dealt with a part of psd and the UI. So that's both of the main paid devs working on it. The only other paid dev is working on G'MIC which he's specifically funded for. The volunteers are largely too busy with work that ranges from 'improve user experience' to 'making installing and building easier on both platforms' to 'QT5-port, Animation, Python plug-in' to 'provide resources, write tutorials, do helpdesking, and promote kickstarter'. (And a lot of the remainder work on the layerstyles is stuff that is either too much work for a volunteer(especially the devs who have dayjobs as devs), or goes above their heads. So dmitry's the best candidate for it) |

Ok, and dmitry will also be doing the main 3-4 months of work for the brush performance part of the current kickstarter?
Thanks for answering. |

Yes he will, but he will fix layerstyle bugs/saving/loading in the meantime. It really depends on the bug reports being made, because he won't have the time, or inventiveness to find all bugs himself ![]() |
