Anime / manga clouds tutorials ?

Wed May 13, 2015 1:23 pm
I am wondering if there are any tutorials and brushes about painting anime / manga clouds, looking similar to this:

Also wondering if Krita 2.9 (for Windows) has filters that would help achieving painterly look on more or less flat shaded clouds rendering in Blender.

Thanks!

You're best off trying out the index colours filter to map the rendered clouds to a limited palette, and then painting over that manually. But there's no filter that is able to identify and create the qualities for these clouds automatically.

For hand drawn, first draw opaques patches and then mix them afterwards, here and there.

EDIT: Or have a cloud brush à la http://yuumei.deviantart.com/art/Cloud- ... -396507964

Thanks, I'll look into it.

I am trying to get basic clouds done in Blender and then go over with some texturizing brush or run some oil filter, if there is any:

Hello everyone,

With G'MIC (latest Krita 2.9.4 git) there is a filter which tries to emulate the clouds (Filter > G'mic > Patterns > Clouds) :)

I have recorded a short video on Linux (Xubuntu 15.04) to show this filter with Krita 2.9.4:
