First I’d like to say thanks for making Krita. It's a great application and I’ve used it almost exclusively for a few months now for my digital sketches/doodling. I have two custom brushes that I’d like to improve a bit:
![]() For sketching brush I tweaked the tilt sketch brush preset that comes bundled and use another texture and changed some curves. (1.) I think it looks pretty good as it is now but would be even better if the brush shape became rounder as the tilt angle gets closer to 90°(holding the pen straight up). (2.) Second I have an simple round tip smudge brush with dulling smudge mode. It can feel a bit muddy sometimes and I therefore made a version with ”soft mask” brush tip with darker edges to get an sharper feel. (3.) The problem is that it looses sharpness on smaller sizes and gets a bit heavy edge when bigger and therefore only works as intended in a small size span. ![]() Are there any brush features in Krita that I’ve missed that could fix these things? brush bundle: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 3913482789 |

1. Can't be helped. There's no ratio modifier yet.
2/3. Not possible either, the softness is proportional, and thus scales with size. It's why I usually make several brushes for different sizes. I guess you could make wishbugs for these, if you'd like, we'll remember them then. ![]() |

Thanks for the reply ![]() I guess using multiple preset will work although it feels a bit unintuitive. Also I got a little creative and made a brush with round brush tip that scatters at Y axis with pen tilt. (not perfect but an improvement maybe) ![]() brush bundle if anyone else would find it useful: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 6054344789 (I usually work at 50% zoom and lowering the flow will make the brush texture harder looking) |
