Hi guys,
I'm seeing a lot on the Krita page that we have access to Generator layers, but I can't seem to find them? I'm particularly after the Perlin Noise. Any help would be incredible. Rhys |

They are called 'fill layers' in 2.9, but I don't think perlin noise has been implemented yet. Where did you see this?

I understand they may be for earlier versions, so I assumed it would be the same or similar for 2.9. But thank you for your response, I'll see what I can do with what we have! Loving the program also, first time using any sort of digital media and it's really taking me places with my work. |

Also may I ask, where can I find 'Fill Layers'?

Ah, well, the first is the developer wiki, which means that it's random brainstorming by some programmer about the stuff he wants to implement. As for the second, I think there may have been these implemented, but sometimes features get removed because they cause too many bugs, and because no one requests them to return, we forget to re-add them again.
If you go to the '+' button at the bottom of the docker, there's a small down arrow next to it. You can select the layer types other than 'paint-layer' there. ![]() |

Fill layers can be reached over the drop down arrow in the layer docker.
We lost support for perlin noise when opengtl/openshive support was removed. |

Thanks very much for your help, guys. You always respond in such a fast and efficient manner!
A little shame that the Perlin Noise is no longer available, such a fast and interesting way to get a cloud/smoke effect. Guess I'll have to find some other substitute, any ideas other than of course, painting them? Anything effects or texture-wise that works well? Thanks |

I think you can generate them via G'MIC filters? Those are the last item under the filters menu. Do save your work beforehand though, G'MIC has some really complex filters that can crash Krita on windows(We are working on this), but I don't think the clouds generation one is one of them.

It should be pretty easy to convert the shiva code to C++.
