Saving gradients?

Sat Jun 20, 2015 1:38 pm
I spent a while making a custom gradient, then I renamed, and added to a tag.

When I closed and restarted krita, its was gone? tried to find it in appdata, there are a few there, but when I import it, its just the old gradient (before I renamed it)

:'(

(+ making gradients really isn't easy)

Did you try to select the tag? Maybe some other tag is selected. Saving and loading gradients should work.

I think I figured out what happens.

When you click the add button, you can only edit the gradient at that time, once you've closed the dialog that gradient is saved. You can still go back and edit that gradient during a session, but none of the edited information will be saved. This is good, because you don't want to lose the original, but it should be like brushes, where if you rename something, there should be a "save preset" button, or if you make a slight change you should be able to overwrite, that way you don't have to completely start over, if you want to make similar gradients.
