I've created some files in 2.9+ (windows) and i cannot open them correctly in 2.8 version of Krita (linux).
Tried several distros but (as i assumed) with no success. I gave up on installing 2.9 on linux. I just can't get it to work even on clean os install and i'm not complete noob when it comes down to following installation instructions. Anyway, what happens is that i open file created on windows 2.9 version in 2.8.1 linux version, and all i see is chequered pattern on working area. Like everything is transparent. Except all layers are there, marked visible. I've tried some older files made on windows with version 2.8 and they are just as they should be. I'm hoping that there is just some option that i overlooked (tho it feels like loong shot now). So is there anything i can do about this? Thank you for your time. |

That is very strange, outside new layertypes, like transform masks, there shouldn't be any backwards compatability issues. Could you make the file available to us somehow? Then it could be tested here on 2.8.
As for installing Krita 2.9, how did you try installing it? We know that for example the Krita Lime ppa on Ubuntu installs in a super-obscure place: root/opt/project-neon/krita/bin. (We're trying to resolve this, but important bugs divert the attention constantly) |

About installing Krita on linux, i've just successfully installed 2.9.5 following instructions on this page:
http://dimula73.blogspot.com/2013/05/kr ... sions.html I even didn't have to uninstall previous version, 2.8.1- i just added ppa and stepped over, it worked. It opens all files as it should. And i'm happy. ![]() I'll PM you dropbox link to template file that didn't work in previous version just half hour ago (unmodified of course). |
