My Pdf document wont open in krita.

Tue Jul 14, 2015 4:17 am
Hi,
My Pdf document wont open up in krita It crashes. All it is is a table that i want to use in Krita. I have tried to import or open and it just closes the program (when opening under a jpeg file. It wont even show up in files as a pdf i have to open in all files.

Another question.

I want to put Chinese characters into these boxes. and show the stroke order of each character. is there a way to shade different parts or text so as to highlight different parts of a character a character would be an english letter.四 has five strokes but i want to highlight different parts. What would be the most efficient way to do this as I have a lot to do for my students.

Is this the best software to do this?

Thank you so much for your assistance.

cee :) :)

Well, Krita is an application for creating artwork, not for text layout... For the PDF file problem, you can make a bug in bugs.kde.org and attach the PDF file, and we can look at it. Keep in mind that a) I've broken my arm, so I'm about 80 bugs behind with bug triaging and b) it's vacation time, so it will be a while before we get there.

As for the Chinese character problem, I understand what you want, but there's now to automatically do that. It's not really wat Krita has been designed for...

In an automatic way, no, but I think that using inkscape, converting the character to paths and then selecting the current stroke and making it stand out would be the most efficient way to go. I might be wrong, though, I learned Chinese twenty-five years ago, and back then there was only one way to use characters on a PC and that was with a physical hardware slot-in card :-) I never paid much attention afterwards.
