SVG Import / Export

Fri Jul 24, 2015 2:48 pm
I'd love to use Krita for some SVG work. It was mentioned briefly in the manual, but I'm not finding it. I have version 2.9.6 installed on Windows 10.

Is it possible to import an SVG into a vector layer?

And is it possible to export an SVG from one or more vector layers?

yes, via the shape docker, but this is not the type of import you would like to think of.

But really, until we have the time to give vectors the love they deserve, use inkscape instead :/

It used to be possible (https://slangkamp.wordpress.com/2010/12 ... r-krita-2/), but it somehow broke in the meantime.

I broke it... With the MVC merge, which meant that we couldn't share filters with Karbon anymore. Honestly, I think that in 3.x, we should drop karbon and merge all functionality with Krita.
