Anyone upgraded to Windows 10?

Sun Aug 02, 2015 1:58 pm
I'm sitting on the sidelines, wondering if any brave soul has upgraded to Windows 10.

More to the point, I'm interested to know if Krita is running well in a Windows 10 environment.

Thanks,

Chuck

Not yet, but it's slated for when I return from my vacation. We travel home tomorrow, should be back in the Netherlands by Tuesday night -- we're taking the trains :-)

Yes I have. opengl doesn't work (at least with my AMD 7950's, NVIDIA cards may be different), but if you tick the box off in -Krita config-->display--->openGL, it works fine for what I've been doing. EDIT:(with it ticked, any mark i make on the canvas does not load until I click outside the krita window)

Build x64_2.9.6.3 seems to be working as per normal (so far) in Windows 10 Pro with NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.

I have no idea which build I have, but the version is 2.9.6 64 bit. It's the latest published one on the main download page.

It works well with Windows 10 Home, so far. I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

Working for me on the Surface Pro 3 as well.

One note though, in case you suddenly lose pressure sensitivity after the upgrade (but still have it on other apps like Sketchbook), you might need to reinstall the N-Trig Wintab drivers. The problem is that the N-Trig site is no longer functional and the previous Download links for the driver no longer works.

The solution comes from this post: http://www.surfaceforums.net/threads/windows-10-missing-wintab-driver-for-artists.16236/

Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38826

"Click Download and SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM and check next to Wintab-1.0.0.18-64-bit.zip. Click Next to download and install. You should have pressure sensitivity in applications that require Wintab, like ZBrush."

Sometimes the download doesn't start immediately due to some browser security measures. I used Microsoft Edge to allow the download. Hope that helps anyone who runs across the same problem.

Thanks for the tip jucato! Currently I don't have the pen so I'm using my wacom tablet in the meantime, but I'll take note of it when I do get it! n_n
