Hi,
I'm trying to make a few instructional videos for my local painting group, and we've all settled for Krita (since it's free and we're all poor starving artists). I also decided to use OBS, but I'm having problems. Rather than repeating myself, I'll just link to the description of the problem over at the OBS forum. https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/ob ... ome.33938/ I'm not really getting anywhere, so I thought I'd ask here. a) Have any of you come up against this problem, and did you find a solution, or b) Is there any screen recorder like OBS that is both free and uses hardware encoding and manageable file sizes (unlike Fraps) that you know works with Krita? Thank you. |

Hello Canon,
On Windows 7 (64 bit) I record my desktop through: BB FlashBack Express 5 [1]. This particular version (Express) is completely free (freeware) but it is *not* open source. In short, the first time you download this version, you are supposed to give your email in order to receive the serial number to get started. I don't know whether it works fine on Windows 10 but I have tried it with the OpenGL stuff ON for Krita 2.9.6 and everything is ok (tried with Windows 7 - 64 bit). In the past I have recorded my screen by using Camstudio (open source) and Vlc Player (open source too) as well. IMHO, they are not as powerful as BB FlashBack Express though... Thanks! I'll check it out.
I was so desperate that I even installed Linux to try to get around this. Unfortunately, trouble never comes alone. I ran smack into Linux audio brick wall. I couldn't get my microphone to work, and ALSA and Pulse Audio doesn't seem to be the most user friendly system for noobs like me to tinker with. ![]() |
