Some of the default keyboard shortcuts, and some of my custom shortcuts don't do anything.
In the past (in Krita 2.8.x) I had problems where Krita would completely forget my custom shortcuts. This is different. When I open up the keyboard shortcuts dialog (Krita Settings > Configure Shortcuts), the shortcuts I've customized or left at the default setting are still there. The Undo function, for example, is still set to Ctrl-Z... But when I press Ctrl-Z, nothing happens. The only way to Undo is from Edit menu, or the Undo History docker. It's like for this for about half of every keyboard shortcut in all of Krita. I'm not sure if there's a pattern to the bug or not. I've noticed many (if not most) of the broken shortcuts seem to be for functions that you have to pick from the menu bar. At least, most of the tools which I can select by clicking a button in the Tool Box panel have working keyboard shortcuts. But for things like Open File, Save, Close Document, Select All, Deselect, Select Opaque, etc... the keyboard shortcuts don't do anything. I'm running Krtia 2.9.5 on Fedora 22 x64.

Also having similar difficulties. Updated to Krita 2.9.6 on Linux Mint but when for example the "Zoom In" shortcut is changed from "ctrl + +" to say "A" it will not work. However the default shortcuts do work. Similar things like "Configuration..." under "Themes" also seems to not open so not sure what is going on. Will try to troubleshoot and figure out whats wrong in the meanwhile.

The problem persists for me on Krita 2.9.7. I'd really like some help here. The lack of keyboard shortcuts really slows me down when I'm working.
Anyone have any ideas? Any guesses? |

At a loss for anything else to do, I ended up deleting all my preferences files. Specifically:
And then I manually reconfigured all the Krita preferences and keyboard shortcuts. This was a really tedious solution, but it worked. All my customized keyboard shortcuts, plus all the shortcuts I left at their default setting, now work again. And actually, I notice the files that I'd deleted in ~/.kde/share/apps/krita/ were not recreated when I reset the Krita preferences and shortcuts. So maybe there was some conflict between config files that I'd backed up from earlier versions of Krita? That's my best guess. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP, GAIS ;P |

Some shortcuts not working here too.
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (rolling updates) KDE 5.21.5 In particular, it seems that assigning shortcuts from KMenuEdit works in many circumstances but fails in other circumstances. I don't know the root cause, but I can enumerate some cases which works well and some cases which fails. Using KMenuEdit for defining shortcuts works well, creating global shortcuts for them: * Dolphin, Kate, Firefox, Xournalpp Using KMenuEdit for defining shortcuts fails in these cases: * Zeal: a global shortcut is created. A message warns that Meta+Z for application Zeal conflicts with action Zeal. * Free42, which I've installed via a shell script : a global shortcut is created. Meta+C conflicts with Application Custon Shortucts Service for action Free42 Strangely enough, another application which I've installed via a shell script, this works fine. I've created the desktop file just like in the case of Free42 described above, but Free42 fails whilst this other application works fine. I suspect (just a wild guess!) that the trouble has to do with the file contents. Whilst Zeal and Free42 are ELF 64-bit executables, the other application is a shell script. Ways to circumvent For Zeal and Free42 which didn't work, this is how I've circumvented: 1. I've removed the global shortcuts for them; 2. I've created shortcuts under Custom Shortcuts KMenuEdit. |
