Often, I load more than one drawing into Krita to do melding..
In the past, with Krita, I could load 2 or 3 drawings at one time, and mix elements from each. Since I've upgraded to Krita v 2.9.6, every time I try to load more than one drawing, I get a message, "Krita has experienced a problem and will now close". I'm running Windows 8.1, 1.30 GHz, 4.0 GB ram, and 64 bit OS. I didn't have this problem before, (I don't remember which version of Krita I was using.). Is there a way I can get back to this..?? I can use my PS6 to do this, but that's a lot of work around.. Can any one help me figure this out..?? |

That should just work, and it works for me. You could try to see whether moving away your kritarc config file makes a difference, and if the default config doesn't work, check whether disabling opengl makes it work. There seems to have been a spate of Windows updates recently (associated with Windows 10?) that are causing trouble.

Ok, I'm not sure if it was a translator or what, but some of that made some sense but I really still have no clue..heh..
Thanks for trying.. Should I make the jump to windows 10??!? I'm unsure... I've yet to get Krita 2.9.7..Maybe that'll be the kicker.. |

Ok, so i downloaded Krita 2.9.7.6, and I still can't get more than one image active at a time..
Not a deal breaker by any means. This is an amazing program. So much so that I've been donating 5 Euros/ month happily for about a year now..;-> I figure that for now I can create composite drawings in my old outdated PS6, then load them into Krita and work from there.. I'm not going to make the jump to Windows 10 until I see more people using it without problems.. (I've heard more bad than good at this point). |

I've also heard more bad than good about win 10 -- it seems either the tablet drivers or the graphics drivers are giving problems for a lot of people.
But I'm still not able to reproduce your problem... I've tried opening several images at the same time, and dragging and dropping images into an existing image to create new layers, and I don't get crashes. If you do this: press Windows key + r type "appdata" in the run dialog press Enter in the explorer file manager dialog, enter the Roaming folder rename the krita folder to krita.bak start Krita Does that fix your problem? |

Nope.. No effect...
I did what you said, and still the same.. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Krita 2.9.7.6 No change. I did however get some results from the 32 bit version, (my pc is supposed to use the 64 bit). But I uninstalled it anyway. I'll just have to use my ps6 to do the composite thing.. So for now, I'm using Krita 2.9.7.6 Thanks for trying..If you have any other ideas, please share.. Thank you..!! |

Well I've upgraded my Krita to 2.9.8, but still can't load more than one image at a time..
Kind of a heartbreaker.. I really Love Krita, but it was much easier to get things done with more than one image available at a time. Please, please, please help me out with this...anyone..?!!? |

Hi jcollins,
that is very sad to hear, do you by any chance have a different machine to test if this is reproducible in multiple machines. May be a friend who can let you test krita. If krita opens multiple images without any problem in that machine then it means that the problem lies in your system. you can then see if anything in your machine is the cause of the trouble like graphic card driver, opengl or anything else. I hope this problem gets sorted out . thank you |

In an earlier version of Krita, I was able to have a few images working at the same time.
I have a pretty new pc. It's healthy enough.. For now, my work-around is making composites in PS6, saving as a pdf, and then open with Krita and get what ever piece I need, then breaking it down..etc.. I hope we can work it out for me. |
